Kick Your Day Off with Lemon Water!

It is one of the most simple and healthy ways to start the day and has SO many benefits! 

Lemon water, yes you guessed it, is simply lemon squeezed into water.  Although there are some tasty different ways of making it (see below).

The first thing to note, just to clear up any misconceptions, is it is ALKALISING!  But I can hear you say, Lemons are acidic!  Yeah, they are, in their raw form. 

But we are interested in how they are once they are consumed.  It is one of the few alkaline fruits.  It has extremely low sugar content and it is high in alkaline minerals.  So, it has an alkalising effect on the body.

Lemon Water Recipes

The basic recipe is:

  • Warm Water
  • ½ Squeezed Lemon

Top 3 Lemon Water Tips

Tip #1 – Use Pure Water (not tap!)

I recommend that you get pure water from a decent filter.  You can get this very effectively through our Ninja Jug.  This jug is unique, in that it will filter out all the nasties from tap water, then ADD BACK IN beneficial alkaline minerals.

Tip #2 – Get Good Quality Lemons

Go for ORGANIC if possible. Make sure the skin is THICK and it is a nice full YELLOW colour. Make sure it is not overripe, being all wrinkled.

Tip #4 – Time Saving Tip – Freeze Your Lemon

Having lemon ice cubes ready is a fantastic way to add lemon to your water fast. Simply squeeze fresh lemon juice into ice cube trays and freeze. Drop a few cubes into a glass of cold or hot water as needed.
